Ok, now I have actually tried to post this a couple of times... Let's hope 7th time is lucky. And if it is, I'll say all the other things I wanted to add..

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Edit: Oh, glorious be the internet powers. It worked... Well, this is an experiment. The drawing is an old one, that I found when looking for something completely different, and I thought it would be good to try it out in my newly acquired Photoshop. That lead to a very frustrated evening, since Photoshop and I were not exactly good at communicating.... But eventually I stopped messing about, and actually found some fun stuff. It is extremely basic, but I will continue to play around and hopefully Photoshop will divulge it's secrets to me. :-)

Oh! I missed this! It's also beautiful; you've got such a graceful style with beautiful flowing lines. :)

Thank you. It is an old drawing so I can't be really remember how it came to be, but sometimes I just start drawing flowing lines with no real end-result in mind, until they sort of coalesce and I figure out what it was that I was drawing! :) If I'm not completely mistaken this one started with her cape.. (And I must admit that she was not Nerdanel when I drew her back then, but I think she fits the part well enough! hehe)

Hmmm I think the more you play around with Photoshop, the more it gets familair. Layers are your friend and saving in between too.

I really like the moment you caught here. When I saw her expression I started to wonder where in time you drew Nerdanel. To me it almost felt the Nerdanel in 'A Mother's Wish' to me (my own drabble). Her posture and face are very telling here!

Layers are indeed me friends! And I'm having fun looking around in Photoshop. I have always mostly done black/gray/white pencil drawings, so just adding coulour to the background is new to me. :)

Well as I said above, she wasn't really Nerdanel when she came to be, so I didn't have anything in mind other than the flowing lines Dawn mentioned above. She just seemed to be Nerdanel afterward, so maybe it was in the back of my mind all along. Though now I'm very curious about your drabble. Will go read it at once. ;)

You are absolutely right about your drabble - I understand how you made that connection.. I think that what made her Nerdanel for me was the sadness and the longing I felt in the picture, which also comes out so clearly in your story. Deciding to stay behind when all that you love leave is a sad and lonely, but sometimes necessary choice..

Here is that Nerdanel :) I like the light on her nose. Very Japanese mood here, both from flying fabric, the hair style and pose:)
