Another four sketches for the B2MeM! :D As you can see I'm not completely caught up, but I only had today to draw in, so I'm pleased that I made four.

Yay! It's my birthday - and like a good little hobbit I come bearing a gift to my lovely friends here on lj! (We all know I would rather be an elf, but this is such a cute tradition, that I'll play hobbit for a day if I have to. ;))

I finally finished colouring it (well more or less - I'm sure I can endlessly tweak this!) As you may notice, this is a photo.. I have done my best in photoshop, but it isn't quite the same as in real life. Just wait til  I get it scanned!! I made the size of this quite large in the hope that you can read the text.

I have finished a page!! Yay! And with [community profile] nanomango starting tomorrow, who knows what heigts of efficiency I might rise to?!

Anyway I'm off to celebrate my birthday by listening to my favourite Danish comic artist talking about his work, and later cooking a nice dinner for family and boyfriend! :D

I recently went out to buy a fixative for my drawings, so the graphite won't smudge, once I have finished the image. (Of course I haven't used it yet on any of the drawings - there is always room for improvement.) While I was at the artshop (very dangerous place for someone like me) I noticed a display of inks... And I thought, "I think I will buy some of that too... And some brushes just for that, so I don't mix them with my watercolour-brushes..... And some special paper too!!" So, many art-supplies richer and quite some Kroner poorer, I went home. This morning I finally had a chance to test the ink as a drawing-medium. I almost didn't go to work, I was so excited about it - and I certainly scared my co-workers being far too happy, even if the jobs I was given today were extremely boring! If any of you know my previous work, you will no doubt have noticed that the amount of detail I put in the drawings is increasing at a very steep rate - and I am quite pleased with my progress with graphite. But I had begun to feel like I was loosing something, that you sometimes get from things being kept simple. I love to have flowing lines that move and make the object I am drawing moving. My precious Nerdanel drawing is an example of some of the early work, that I was beginning to miss. However I could feel that my new knowledge of how graphite could be used, wouldn't make it easy for me to go back. BUT it seems that ink will! Yay!! And it is a much, much faster medium to work with than graphite.. (also more unforgiving, but so far I can live with that). Below are some exercises I was doing to get a feel for the how the ink worked with me - and some of them turned out quite nice, if I do say so myself. ;)

Male torso. (Or did you already notice that? ;) )

A determined Caranthir.

Yyyyaaaaaayyyy, I 'm so pleased I bought that ink!!! ;) :D Off to draw some more - there are birthday presents to be finished.

So I wanted to draw my muse, Caranthir.. He was apparently in a really foul mood that day, but consented to be drawn if he didn't have to act happy. So here he is, angry and dark:

I'm not completely satisfied, but I can't see what to change, so now it goes out there on the web..

Taking a leaf out of[personal profile] dawn_felagund's book, I have decided to give myself a daily challenge, but since I do not write, a daily drabble is not an option - therefore I'm proudly introducing: the daily drawing! Ok, so it will not be EVERY day, but as often as time permits I will do a quick drawing based on the word of the day . This one is inspired by yesterday's word "jejune".
