Happy birthday to me!! ;)

Yay! It's my birthday - and like a good little hobbit I come bearing a gift to my lovely friends here on lj! (We all know I would rather be an elf, but this is such a cute tradition, that I'll play hobbit for a day if I have to. ;))

I finally finished colouring it (well more or less - I'm sure I can endlessly tweak this!) As you may notice, this is a photo.. I have done my best in photoshop, but it isn't quite the same as in real life. Just wait til  I get it scanned!! I made the size of this quite large in the hope that you can read the text.

I have finished a page!! Yay! And with nanomango starting tomorrow, who knows what heigts of efficiency I might rise to?!

Anyway I'm off to celebrate my birthday by listening to my favourite Danish comic artist talking about his work, and later cooking a nice dinner for family and boyfriend! :D

Good thing I only heard about this nanomango thing now or I might have been tempted to join in. Perhaps I'll try to take part secretly, but I know right now that 30 pages won't be possible, so I won't officially join ;)

And nanomango is very tempting isn't it? But they do one again in November in case you are interested and can't wait a whole year... I'm really looking forward to seeing how this will go.

The art is looking fantastic! The subtle color against the sepia tone is lovely. Very Tolkien-like.

Well yes, technically it would be preferable to have others cook, but I like making food when there are others than myself to appreciate it. ;) And my mother brought the cake (with rubarbs and white chocolate cream. mmmmmmmmm)

I'm sorry I'm late with birthday wishes! But I hope you had a very happy birthday (it certainly sounds like you did).

The page looks absolutely wonderful. I really like the textures, especially the ... (okay, here I go with the "technical art terms again") bumpy-looking effect in the corners of the top three frames, and the roughness of the tree, and the difference between the dark curly hair and the smooth red hair. The colors are so lovely, too, both soft/faded and eye-catching at the same time, especially the bright details like the jewel in the sword or the bird's eye. I can't wait to see more!
