As you will probably have noticed I haven't exactly been doing daily drawings... Well, that turned out to be a bit too much! :) But I still like the idea, and will make as many as is possible. This one is based on the word "bifurcate"

Tol Galen

"Then Beren and LĂșthien went forth alone, fearing neither thirst nor hunger; and they passed beyond the river Gelion into Ossiriand, and dwelt there in Tol Galen the green isle, in the midst of Adurant, until all tidings of them ceased." In the Silmarillion, chapter 20: "Of the fifth battle: Nirnaeth Arnoediad".

bifurcate

adjective
1. resembling a fork; divided or separated into two branches; "a forked river"

verb
1. split or divide into two
2. divide into two branches; "The road bifurcated"

And in completely different news the new princess of Denmark was baptized today.
I had completely forgotten this fact, and was planning to relax in front of the tv... Well, BOTH national channels in Denmark were broadcasting live from outside the castle of the crown-prince, with absolutely no news to talk about - and they were planning to continue this all day!!! I thought to salvage myself from this journey into a complete standstill of my brain by diving for the remote and switching to the Norwegian national channel - which was also showing the same pictures. ARGH! Boring, boring, boring!!! I don't know why they think we would be interested, safe for those ten seconds when they announce the name, and really, I would be perfectly fine with just hearing it on the regular news tonight. Though now I shall probably have to boycott the news as well or see them from Sweden, because the Danish ones will spend at least half the time talking about the baptism...

Thank you. I started doing a sketch, which then really worked, so I just continued working on it, and never began a "proper" drawing.. Glad you like it!

That's what I like about drawing, and writing too, when strokes/words fly from under your fingers as though of their own accord, and in the end you're surprised by the resultant work :)

Absolutely - and I often find that those are also the best results. Though of course, those times when you struggle really hard are the times when you learn the most, and lay the base for these flowing streams of consciousness. ;)

I'm bad. I tend to abandon those projects I have to struggle to accomplish, for example the bunnies that, initially, look nice and promising, but I can't seem to find the way to shape them into a story. Heh. But yes, you're right :) The more effort we put into a piece, be it writing or drawing, the more we learn of the craft :) And then, the muse is free to go wild ;)

Lol, I can certainly sympathize. My only comfortable sitting room chair is currently occupied by a painting, that has almost ceased speaking to me - and is now only whispering in the smallest voice... Bunnies rarely are what they seem to be at first glance! :)

Oh, and where is that icon from? Compelling emotions even on a picture so small..

Here is the whole drawing. Sorry the site is in Polish. The picture is an illustration of one of my fav Polish fantasy books :) Geralt is the name of the main character, and he is that poor injured guy on the pic. Actually, the first book of the series was translated into English a while ago :)

Was this the book you wrote about on your lj? Judging from that picture, I think I shall have to read it (and then it is a good thing it has been translated - Polish is a bit beyond my abilities!) :)

Yeps, the same one :)

I told my friend once that I'd love to see it translated and I'd do it if no one was about to, and it seems that someone got there first and did the job ;)
