Finally it's time to post my art for the [livejournal.com profile] sassy_minibang. I got the story Angels and Ostriches written by [livejournal.com profile] neotoma and it was a wonderful excuse for drawing teenage!Castiel and teenage!Sam. :D

You can read the story here. Rating is NC-17.

Sam and Castiel in the rain (I couldn't resist the bitchface):

I thought it might be fun to show a few of the sketches too:

These are so awesome - I especially love the last one. For so little detail (or maybe because of that) there's such emotion in it, just with the hand and the pose and the way they're looking at each other.

Thank you! Sometimes I love my sketches more than the finished product, lol. And I'm amazed you could see all those details in the tangled lines. ♥

Am I imagining things or has your shading style changed? These are fantastic. The poses look difficult but really well done. : )

Thank you! ♥ Hmm maybe? I was trying to simplify things shadingwise. :) I must be a bit of a masochist but I'm really starting to like doing difficult poses.

OMG! Castiel's little sweater-vest in the rain! SQUEE!

I also love Sam's face on the couch. He's adorable.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :D I couldn't help the sweater-vest, lol! I'm glad you like them - they were adorable in the story, so it's good to know they are the same here.

Thank you! :) I used to avoid feet because they were always so difficult to get right, but I've practised, and I'm glad that it has paid off!

Oh, look what I miss when stupid work keeps me off LJ!

The facial expressions here are so great -- they seem to be telling whole stories (and not just the bitchface, lol). Castiel is all open to the rain in the first one, and Sam's just huddled up, hee. And the couch drawing! The foreshortened view of the feet looks really cool. And the expressions again: is that Sam on the left? Anyway, he looks so full of wonder.

It's really interesting to see the sketches, too. I know so little about the process of creating art, but it's fun to get a little hint about how that works.
