May. 7th, 2018 12:38 pm1. Have you ever driven an electric car? Yes! We have two companies in Copenhagen that operate what they call "City Cars", where you register as a user and can just take the nearest car whenever you need one. And they are all little cute electric cars, that outpace those big combustion engines without even trying. I get a lot of joy from this.
2. Do you live in an area that is prone to tornadoes? I don't think we have ever had one... Tiny ones maybe?
3. How many closets does your house have? As few as I can get away with. 2,5 for clothes. And that's it. If I understand the definition of closets correctly of course. ;)
4. When was the last time you saw someone you went to high school with? That's some time ago! I talked with one last week
5. Have you ever eaten moussaka? Yes! I like it both with eggplant and potato, but Mr. Faxe is not super keen on the dish either way, so it's been a while.
6. What breed was the last dog you saw? A giant rhodesian ridgeback named Thor, which I know because that was the name the owner yelled as it threw itself nose first into the biggest puddle it could find.
7. How long have your parents been together (or how long were they together if they no longer are)? 39-40 years is my best guess.
8. What has been your most epic cooking failure? I don't remember anything epic... But I did try to make a fatfree and sugarfree cake once, and while I'm sure it came out as it was supposed to, it is not something I will ever make again...
9. Do you read other people's survey answers on here? Yes - I love reading people's answers
10. What's your bedtime routine? Brush my teeth, take out my contacts and then read fanfiction on my phone until I fall asleep. (reading one-eyed because without contacts I can't really see anything on my right eye, lolol)
11. Do you agree with the saying 'distance makes the heart grow fonder'? Not really.
12. Have you ever been to Mexico? No, and this is a severe oversight on my part. (though I would say that about nearly everywhere I haven't been yet)
13. Do you have a bad temper? No. I wish for more anger and hotheadedness.
14. When was the last time it stormed where you live? We had the storm "Ingolf" in October last year, but it wasn't anything too bad I think. Mostly the hype about a storm is worse than the actual thing.
15. Do you ever fact-check the things you read on the internet? Most of the time.
16. How long would it take you to walk to the nearest store? It is literally next door. Luckily I am still too lazy to go there unless I really have to, or I would be the size of a house.
17. What five words best describe your mother's personality? Kind, naive, caring, enthusiastic and happy.
18. Do you know any transgender people? I do not believe so.
19. What's your dream job? I have come to think that there is no one job that would be a dream. My own hope for my future "career", if you like, is that I can continue to be challenged and learn new things.
20. How old were you when you got your first smartphone? I think I must have been around 26/27.
21. Have you ever had a parrot sit on your shoulder? Not one of the big ones. Just thinking about having one of those one my shoulder is enough to have me involuntarily shuddering at the thought that it would bite my ear or my face!!!
22. In the morning, do you eat breakfast first or brush your teeth first? Breakfast first. Toothpaste taste ruins everything. I almost never have breakfast though!
23. What's something you had to learn the hard way? That not everyone out there is empathetic and trying to do what's best for all. My mother's naivety runs strong in me, and I wouldn't be without it, because it has led me into some amazing experiences, but it is very disappointing when people are not as awesome as I believed they were.
24. What sort of window coverings do you have in your living room? Nothing in the living room - I hate curtains and blinds. I only grudgingly have blackout blinds in the bedroom, because otherwise Mr. Faxe can't sleep.
25. Has anyone in your life ever treated you abusively? Not really. Which I realise makes me extremely privileged.
26. What's the weather like right now? Lovely, lovely blue skies and sunshine, spring at full speed. :D
27. How long has it been since your last breakup? 11 years ago, lolol, when Mr. Faxe and I went on relationship hiatus for a year or so.
28. Can you concentrate well while listening to music, or do you find it distracting? It depends what I'm doing. If I am writing then no, because I can't help but listen to lyrics, but if I am drawing it can be nice.
29. What's the name of the amusement park closest to your house? Tivoli, which is close enough that I can hear the fireworks in the evening if the wind is right. (It it the second-oldest amusement park in the world - the oldest is apparently another Danish amusement park, 20 km away)
30. Do you like The Rolling Stones? Not particularly
31. What was the last single item you spent over $100 on? My new phone after I stupidly dropped the old one on a marble floor...
32. What's something you've been struggling with lately? A pain in my left shoulder that will not go away. It probably has a lot to do with the work we are doing on the apartment, and there is just no way for me to let up on that at the moment. So I am doing small exercises for it, and letting it rest as much as possible in all other areas.
33. What was the last caffeinated drink you had? Coffee half an hour ago!

Date: 2018-05-07 12:51 pm (UTC)The electric mini cars are fantastic. Owning a car in Copenhagen is a huge pain, so it is great to have access to a car when you need it, but the best part is that you can park them for free anywhere!
Tivoli is world famous!
Is it?! :D It's a very nice amusement park too.

Date: 2018-05-07 01:17 pm (UTC)I just had some x-rays and ultrasound scans done, and now my doctor and my physiotherapist will give me some feedback soon. So hopefully this is also something that will go away soon. I am not ready to blame it on old age yet! ;)

Date: 2018-05-07 02:01 pm (UTC)Hopefully you will find out soon. Sometimes minor stress injuries can be helped by the old-fashioned method of alternating heat and cold also.

A steadfast dedication to having fun! :D Although they are wasted on me - I don't like rides. I will go for the happy mood though!

Date: 2018-05-12 09:41 pm (UTC)Me too! I have to work hard not to be judgy or bitter when people are not as idealistic as me. I wrestle with this with my family a lot of times, who have the time and means to make slightly different and more ethical choices and largely don't. (I sometimes wonder where I came from. If I didn't have my dad's weird blue eyes, I'd think I might have been switched at the hospital! :D)
I'm sorry about the shoulder pain! Chronic pain is so annoying and wearying all at once.
I agree about the parrots! I've had budgies in the past and know they nibble.

Date: 2018-05-14 07:21 am (UTC)This is what those ranty chat sessions with me are for! ;) But yes, people who are in a position to be kind and generous, yet aren't, do make me judgy.
The shoulder pain is better these days, even though we are still working hard at the renovation project. I have been sent to a physiotherapist, and she seems to be really skilled and competent and every time I have done the exercises she sets me, the shoulder feels better.
